My absolute favorite thing about having a blog is that I can go IN DEPTH to what I mention on my Instagram account. It's clear to everyone that Instagram is my favorite source of social media. I love expressing my creativity and taking pictures of the world around me.
One of the things on my instagram account is pen pals. I know that pen pals come in seasons. It's always usually towards the middle-end of summer, AND I LOVE IT.
Ever since I was a freshman in highschool I was always known as the girl who wrote letters. I love handwritten letters because I feel as if my words don't just disappear in the mess of text messages. Letters are real, raw, true, genuine love and encouragement and I can't get enough of them.
Ever since I was a little girl I remember looking through photo albums of my older cousins, family friends and looking at their senior portraits. I don't know why I was always intrigued by them, but that photo album sitting on the living room ottoman just caught my eye right away.
So you can only imagine my excitement when I booked my first set of senior portraits. I anticipated the day for weeks. I took DAYS to find the perfect outfit, and we strategically planned the location to my unique style.
One of my favorite things to eat this summer was popsicles, and smoothies. This Georgia heat was KILLING me, and it was so nice to refresh by the pool with and cool (and tasty) smoothie.
WITH THAT BEING SAID...
Summer is over, and I was in desperate need of a smoothie that was packed with powerful nutrients and didn't taste bad.
My favorite thing in the entire world is being a Senior Rep for Samantha Ansley Photography. For this shoot I was asked to deck out in my favorite America items for the Fourth of July. I DON'T THINK I HAVE EVER BEEN MORE EXCITED.
I LOVE SAM + I LOVE AMERICA!
For the past six months, my photographer, Sam, has worked her heart out on creating a video. This video is special, and will forever hold a place in my heart.
If you know anything about me, you know that Brittany Merrill loves a good sunset.
One of my best friends in the entire world is my photographer, Samantha Medlin.
Whenever I'm with Sam I feel as if the world is a little bit brighter and ready for anything we throw at it. Sam makes me feel like the brightest sunset. I feel as if God put her in my life to open up a part of confidence and adventure that has been tucked away for a very long time.
For the last seventeen years of my life, I have grown up looking at the same picture in a scrapbook. It's a picture of my dad and grandfather, and they ran the Peachtree Road Race together. For years and years, I would look at that picture and smile and say, "one day I'm gonna do that."
Well this past summer, I ran my very first 5k. It's a small stepping stone to the Peachtree that I am hoping to run next year.
I never ever thought in a million years I would be the girl standing IN FRONT of the camera instead of behind it. That was my reality until I met Samantha on March 19, 2017.
In this midst of driving home today, my mind stumbled upon the thought that I have not written a blog post in quite some time.
