In this midst of driving home today, my mind stumbled upon the thought that I have not written a blog post in quite some time.
Most of you know me personally, so I’ve probably shared some of my most recent events with you or shared what has been going on. If I haven’t THEN PLEASE TEXT OR MESSAGE ME.
Anyways, let me just go ahead and share what has been going on with my life.
**** WARNING: this post may be long and may include a lot of exclamation points haha.
First of all, my AP classes are done. That has been the greatest relief of them all. School finally feels manageable now. I feel really confident over my exams too, which is nice. (I’m not gonna mention AP exams any more though because I’m pretty sure that College Board has some type of sorcery and will hunt me down…) — It’s crazy to me that I am wrapping up my junior year of high school. I feel so old. Time really does just need to chill.
Second, I GOT A JOB. Yeah, I know. It sounds weird that I would be excited… But really, I am. I work at JL Designs in Monroe, GA. It is the coolest job ever. I really, really love it. I am a florist, and although I don’t make the bouquets of flowers yet, I still enjoy sweeping the floors and setting up vases and watering the plants. It’s like a perfect Brittany Merrill job.
Third — okay so this might be long. Hang on to your hats.
My soul feels awakened. I know that sounds weird, but let me explain. I have this playlist on Spotify that are all of the songs that I listen to that remind me of summer. I’ve been listening to it religiously lately. Maybe its this warm weather playing tricks on me, but I just feel like I need to lather some tanning lotion on, grab a ‘kini, and go jump off a waterfall. My soul is literally longing to wake up, drink a smoothie, jump in my pool, and read a book (that isn’t required by the school) — Hopefully summer will come soon. I need her.
I could probably spill for hours and hours about how I’m feeling. Life is going really good right now. I miss my friends a lot, but I know that when my new job schedule dies down I’ll be able to see them more.
Twenty minutes ago I had all my windows open in my car and country music was blaring through the radio. Now, I’m about to shut this computer down and read a new book that has been sitting on my shelf for a few months!!! It’s called, A Million Little Ways by Emily P. Freeman — I’ll keep y’all updated on that one and let you know if it’s a good read or not.
I hope you all have had a great day. This day has been a real good one for me, and I hope it’s the same for you.
