As you all know from my social media, I work with a lot of brands. One of the main things that I think is cool about my blog and social media is that I love working with little brands. These companies are usually just small entrepreneurs with a big vision, and they look to me & my social media to get them a little bit more exposure. I absolutely adore these partnerships, and at the end of the day, I am able to make friendships as well. With that being said, I would like to introduce to you the first business feature on my blog, The Thrifty Sisters.
Located in Agusta, Georgia, these sisters, Gabi and Mikki are a dynamic duo like no other! Gabi messaged me on Instagram and asked if I would like to partner with them to help their small thrifting business gain a little extra following. Once I saw their content, there was no convincing. These girls are the epitome of quirky style in a 21-century world. They combine some of the greatest finds with today's trends, and that is rare. I spent the whole afternoon with them last Friday, and we took some photos with their latest pieces and I am in LOVE!
In their little online thrifting business, you will find anything from tops, bottoms, and accessories that cannot be found in your typical mall store. If you know me at all, then it will come to your attention that I love to spend my time finding pieces that NO ONE else has. I love the variety and spunk it adds to my wardrobe. This is one thing I admire about the Thrifty Sisters. They don't want to stick to the status quo. These girls are FUN, BOLD, AND COLORFUL. This is why I am sharing them with you today! As you can see from the photos below, I am featured in the first item in their collection that they posted about. This bright, cherry-poppin, denim jacket was the first to catch my eye on their site and I knew I had to have it!
After our make-shift photoshoot, I sat down with Gabi and Mikki and we talked about the business and the backbone behind it. With these blog post I'm writing, I always like to know the inner workings, and why they decided to start their company. The girls were so much fun to talk to! They balance each other out so well. I asked them so many questions, and they didn't mind at all. So here is some of the little information about this baby-business that helps you get a better understanding of WHY you should invest in this company.
Gabi and Mikki started this company three days before they messaged me on Instagram. I was so caught off guard too because they talked with so much professionalism that it sounded like a well-established company. Monday, July 2, 2018, is the official date for the Thrifty Sisters, and they have been thriving ever since. When prompted the question, "What made you start this company," they both giggled and responded with a, "I JUST LOVE CLOTHES SO MUCH." These girls have a passion for fashion and you can see it evidently. They went into deeper detail with me and just started talking about how they would find super cute clothes at these stores and they couldn't PASS THEM UP. They knew that a girl out there in the world would want a top like that and they wanted to be the ones to share that passion with them. It's almost like a friendship through clothes... and I'm here for it. Just sitting with the girls I was able to see some distinct characteristics that most girls didn't have. That is how I knew this company was special to them. I asked Gabi what she thought her younger sister, Mikki, brought to the table with this business and she responded with this:
"Mikki is open to trying new things, and she is always optimistic. If I don't think an article of clothing would be cute, she is always open to cut it up, and style it to make it work. She is spunky and has great taste!"
After hearing that response, I was curious about what Mikki thought of Gabi. Mikki said this:
"Gabi is trendy. She knows what's in and what isn't "cool" anymore. She can spot an article of clothing and she KNOWS exactly what kind of person would wear it. She knows how to pair things, and what color schemes look good together." ***Mikki also pointed out the outfit she was currently wearing. It was a floral skirt, and striped shirt. The outfit looked absolutely ADORABLE on her, and she pointed out that Gabi had picked it out!!!
They both are so similar, yet so different. Each of them brings a new aspect, passion, and idea to the business and that is why I think it WORKS. Most thrift store companies have one owner. This ONE owner picks the clothes he/she thinks is cute. It's left to little imagination and not much diversity. This is why I am behind Thrifty Sisters 110%. Their opportunities are truly endless.
I want to end this blog post just with a quick THANK YOU to the Thrifty Sisters for believing in me and themselves. If you do not follow them already, its time to change that. They are bringing a whole new light to the thrift business, and I love it.
Keep up the good work girls. I am so proud of you.
Everyone else, watch out! I'll be bidding xx
